Canada Cultural Spaces Fund (CCSF)

The Canada Cultural Spaces Fund is a $54 million federal initiative that supports infrastructure projects aimed at enhancing the physical conditions of spaces used for arts and heritage creation, collaboration, presentation, and exhibitions. These upgrades are intended to improve access to arts and culture across Canada.

  • Covers up to 50% of project expenses, ranging from $500,000 to $15 million
  • Final funding depends on the specific type of project
  • Applicants in rural or underserved communities may be eligible for up to 75% coverage

    • First Nations and other Indigenous communities or organizations
    • Broader public sector organizations

      • Official-language minority communities

    • Projects must be focused on one of the following:
      • Building or renovating arts, heritage, or creative hub facilities
      • Purchasing specialized equipment
      • Conducting feasibility studies related to new or upgraded arts and heritage facilities
      Eligible project costs (cash or in-kind) may include:
      • Administrative expenses directly related to the project
      • Staff salaries
      • Carrying costs
      • Tendering services
      • Bilingual service delivery (French and English)
      • Project audit expenses
