Upgraded | Canadian Government Funding

The Creative Export Canada – Export Ready Stream offers funding for projects that generate export revenues and help Canadian Creative Industries reach more people around the world.

Funding Amount

Access up to 75% of eligible expenses to a maximum of $2.5M in government contribution.

Eligible Applicants

Must be a for-profit or not-for-profit organization.

Must have annual revenues not exceeding $500 million.

Must employ at least one full-time staff member.

Must be Canadian-owned and controlled.

Some funding will be set aside for companies where at least 50% of owners or board members self-identify as Indigenous or as members of equity-deserving communities.

Eligible Activities

Projects must be export-ready (i.e. market-ready content with a developed export plan and intent to generate new export revenues).

Projects must support one or more of the following creative sectors:

Artistic craft
Audiovisual
Design (including exhibit, fashion, product, public art, and urban design)
Music
Performing arts
Publishing
Visual art
Interactive digital media (only if combined with one of the above industries)

Minimum project cost must be $150,000.

The applicant must own the intellectual property rights for the project content.
