1. Research proposal describing the specific aims and objectives of the Ancillary Study.

2. Description of the proposed methods and experimental approach for causal variant identification and/or functional characterization of effector genes within IBD risk loci.

3. Justification for the need to expand the number of IBD susceptibility loci, causal variants, and effector genes under investigation.

4. Explanation of how the proposed Ancillary Study will contribute to the understanding of the genetic architecture of IBD phenotypes and elucidate the biological mechanisms influencing IBD pathophysiology and clinical course.

5. Description of the resources, including subjects, samples, and datasets, that will be utilized from the IBDGC.

6. Statement confirming that the proposed Ancillary Study will not duplicate studies either ongoing or already completed by the IBDGC.

7. Estimated budget for the proposed Ancillary Study, including personnel, supplies, and any other necessary resources.

8. Timeline and milestones for the completion of the proposed Ancillary Study.

9. Description of any collaborations or partnerships that will be involved in the execution of the proposed Ancillary Study.

10. List of references relevant to the proposed research.

CanExport SMEs

Amount of Funding

Up to 50% funding to a maximum $50,000 grant per project;
Applicants may receive up to 50% of eligible costs for up to $10,000 to $50,000 in grant funding per project;
The applicant is responsible for the remaining 50% of costs;
The annual CanExport contribution maximum is $99,999 (in the event of multiple projects approved in the same government fiscal year);
A group of related companies cannot receive >$200,000 in funding in a single fiscal year. Projects budgets should be between $20,000-100,000; and
Applicants can apply for funding multiple times as long as their prior CanExport application has been completed all reporting is finished.

CanExport SMEs

Eligible Applicants

To be eligible for the CanExport program, Canadian businesses must:

Maintain 1 to <500 full-time employees;
Earn annual revenues ranging from $100,000 to $100,000,000;
Be federally incorporated federally or classified as a limited liability partnership (LLP);
Create eligible project expenses of $20,000 or more; and
Be financially stable and able to pay all project expenses not covered by the program.
