1. Project Description: Provide a detailed description of the proposed clean energy project, including its objectives, expected outcomes, and how it aligns with the three goals of the ERA program.
2. Budget: Prepare a budget outlining the estimated costs of the project and the amount of funding requested from the ERA grant. Include a breakdown of expenses for equipment, labor, materials, and any other relevant costs.
3. Project Timeline: Present a timeline that outlines the key milestones and activities of the project, including start and end dates for each phase. This will help demonstrate the feasibility and timeline of project completion.
4. Project Team: Provide information about the individuals and organizations involved in the project, including their roles, qualifications, and relevant experience. Highlight any partnerships or collaborations that exist or are planned for the project.
5. Community Impact: Explain how the project will deliver measurable benefits to energy customers in rural or remote areas. Describe how it will lower energy costs, improve energy access and resilience, and/or reduce environmental harm.
6. Innovation and Resilience: Demonstrate how the project will support new energy system models using climate-resilient technologies, business structures that promote economic resilience, new financing mechanisms, and/or new community engagement practices.
7. Clean Energy Knowledge and Capacity: Explain how the project will contribute to building clean energy knowledge, capacity, and self-reliance in rural America. Describe any training or education components that will be included in the project.
8. Technical Assistance: Indicate whether you plan to seek technical assistance from DOE's national laboratories and provide information on the areas where you would like to receive assistance. Include details on how you plan to utilize the technical assistance in the development and implementation of your project.
9. Pre-Application: Submit a pre-application by the due date, including a brief overview of the proposed project. Successful pre-applicants will be invited to complete a more detailed full application.
10. Application Submission: Ensure that all application materials are submitted through the OCED Funding Opportunity Exchange. Follow the instructions provided in the Full Funding Opportunity Announcement for the submission process.
