BRAIN Initiative: Exploratory Team-Research BRAIN Circuit Programs - eTeamBCP (U01 Clinical Trials Optional)

- Cross-disciplinary team of investigators

- Research focus on dynamic circuit activity and its contribution to a specific behavioral or neural system

- Proposal of adventurous and challenging goals that require a team-based approach

- Potential for transformative and significant advances

- Development of experimental capabilities and/or theoretical frameworks

- Preparation for future larger-scale or extended efforts, such as the BRAIN TargetedBCP R01 or the Team-Research BRAIN Circuit Programs (U19)

- Large-scale analysis of neural systems and circuits during the measurement of an ethologically relevant behavior

- Assembly and leveraging of multi-disciplinary expertise

- Integration of experimental, computational, and theoretical approaches

- Incorporation of information on cell-types, circuit functionality and connectivity

- Sophisticated analyses of an ethologically relevant behavior or a well-defined neural system

- Aim for mechanistic understanding of CNS circuits

- Application of cutting-edge methods for large-scale recording, manipulation, and analysis of neural circuits across multiple CNS regions.
