BRAIN Initiative: Team-Research BRAIN Circuit Programs - TeamBCP (U19 Clinical Trial Not Allowed)

- Name of the research team

- Description of the research team's focus on examining dynamic circuit functions related to behavior

- Grant duration of 5 years

- Possibility of one competing renewal

- Specific neural systems underlying sensation, perception, emotion, motivation, cognition, decision-making, motor control, communication, or homeostasis

- Theory-/model-driven experimental design

- Predictive models as deliverables

- Systematically controlling stimuli and/or behavior while actively recording and/or manipulating relevant dynamic patterns of neural activity

- Measuring resulting behaviors and/or perceptions

- Approaches guided by specified theoretical constructs

- Employing quantitative, mechanistic models where appropriate

- Managing data and analysis methods in a framework developed and used in the proposed U19 project

- Exchanging data and methods with other BRAIN U19 awardees

- Justification for employing model systems, including the possibility of multiple species ranging from invertebrates to humans

- Multi-component teams of research expertise including neurobiologists, statisticians, physicists, mathematicians, engineers, computer scientists, and data scientists

- Application to include human subjects with invasive neural recording must be submitted to companion FOA, RFA-NS-XX-XXX.
