3. Description of the cancer center's research activities in the areas of basic laboratory, clinical, prevention, control, and population-based research

4. Evidence of substantial transdisciplinary research that bridges the scientific areas mentioned above (for Comprehensive Cancer Centers)

5. Description of the cancer center's focus and expertise in basic laboratory, clinical, prevention, cancer control, and population-based research (for Cancer Centers)

6. Overview of institutional cancer research capabilities and how they will be integrated into a transdisciplinary research enterprise

7. Plan for capitalizing on institutional research capabilities to contribute to the development of more effective approaches to prevention, diagnosis, and therapy for cancer

8. Proposal for the development of shared resources that support cancer research

9. Description of collaboration and coordination efforts with other NCI-funded programs and investigators

10. Plan for disseminating research findings to benefit the community.

CanExport SMEs

Amount of Funding

Up to 50% funding to a maximum $50,000 grant per project;
Applicants may receive up to 50% of eligible costs for up to $10,000 to $50,000 in grant funding per project;
The applicant is responsible for the remaining 50% of costs;
The annual CanExport contribution maximum is $99,999 (in the event of multiple projects approved in the same government fiscal year);
A group of related companies cannot receive >$200,000 in funding in a single fiscal year. Projects budgets should be between $20,000-100,000; and
Applicants can apply for funding multiple times as long as their prior CanExport application has been completed all reporting is finished.

CanExport SMEs

Eligible Applicants

To be eligible for the CanExport program, Canadian businesses must:

Maintain 1 to <500 full-time employees;
Earn annual revenues ranging from $100,000 to $100,000,000;
Be federally incorporated federally or classified as a limited liability partnership (LLP);
Create eligible project expenses of $20,000 or more; and
Be financially stable and able to pay all project expenses not covered by the program.
