Catalyst Grant: Healthy Youth (2023)

  1. Identify Participants: List all known project participants. Nominated Principal Applicant remains unchanged between Registration and Application. Others can change roles. CVs not needed at registration.
  2. Enter Proposal Information: Complete Overview, Details, and Descriptors sections. Research Proposal not required.
  3. Summary of Research Proposal: Summarize research proposal in one page. Used for reviewer expertise matching. Relevance review later.
  4. Complete Peer Review Administration Information: Suggest reviewers with expertise. CIHR selects. Avoid conflicted reviewers. Refer to CIHR guidelines.
  5. Apply to Priority Announcements/Funding Pools (optional): If not applying to priority research, skip. If applying, select funding opportunity title and priority research area. Up to three pools can be chosen. Describe alignment in half-page Relevance Form.
  6. Manage Access (optional): NPA can delegate up to five. Access doesn't carry over stages. Revoke pre-Consent and Submit if needed.
  7. Identify Participants: List all participants, follow eligibility rules. All submit CVs (except collaborators). Canadian academics need CIHR Biosketch. Others choose Biosketch or Applicant Profile CV (max 3 pages). Attach via CCV or upload.
  8. Enter Proposal Information: Outline proposal as per evaluation criteria. French proposals can exceed English page limits (6 for French, 5 for English). Attachments allowed.
  9. Summary of Research Proposal: Summarize proposal's alignment with objectives and funding area. May be used for reviewer selection. One-page limit.
  10. Enter Budget Information: Detail budget justification. Include release time allowance letter.
  11. Attach Other Application Materials: Attach "SGBA+ Training" certificate (mandatory). Upload youth experience statement (mandatory for NPA, if applicable). Attach Indigenous Engagement Plan if relevant. Include applicant partner COI document if applicable. Attach Applicant Profile CVs for Collaborators (optional). Attach Participant Table.
  12. Complete Peer Review Administration Information: Suggest suitable reviewers. CIHR makes final selections. Avoid suggesting conflicted reviewers.
  13. Apply to Priority Announcements/Funding Pools (optional): If not applying to priority research, skip. If applying, select funding opportunity title and priority research area. Up to three pools can be chosen. Describe alignment in half-page Relevance Form.
