4. Budget: A comprehensive budget that outlines the estimated costs for each stage of the project, including personnel, equipment, materials, and any other expenses.

5. Research Team: Information about the key individuals involved in the project, including their qualifications, roles, and responsibilities.

6. Institutional Support: Documentation or letters of support from the applicant's institution or organization, demonstrating their commitment to and capacity for supporting the proposed project.

7. Previous Work: An overview of any previous related work or research conducted by the applicant or their team, highlighting any relevant achievements or publications.

8. Potential Impact: A discussion of the potential impact and significance of the project, including how it aligns with the goals and priorities of the NHLBI and addresses the needs of HLBS diseases and disorders.

9. Ethical Considerations: A statement addressing any ethical considerations related to the proposed research, including human subjects' protection, animal care, and any potential conflicts of interest.

10. Collaboration and Partnerships: Information about any existing or potential collaborations or partnerships with other organizations or researchers that could enhance the success and impact of the project.

CanExport SMEs

Amount of Funding

Up to 50% funding to a maximum $50,000 grant per project;
Applicants may receive up to 50% of eligible costs for up to $10,000 to $50,000 in grant funding per project;
The applicant is responsible for the remaining 50% of costs;
The annual CanExport contribution maximum is $99,999 (in the event of multiple projects approved in the same government fiscal year);
A group of related companies cannot receive >$200,000 in funding in a single fiscal year. Projects budgets should be between $20,000-100,000; and
Applicants can apply for funding multiple times as long as their prior CanExport application has been completed all reporting is finished.

CanExport SMEs

Eligible Applicants

To be eligible for the CanExport program, Canadian businesses must:

Maintain 1 to <500 full-time employees;
Earn annual revenues ranging from $100,000 to $100,000,000;
Be federally incorporated federally or classified as a limited liability partnership (LLP);
Create eligible project expenses of $20,000 or more; and
Be financially stable and able to pay all project expenses not covered by the program.
