To apply for the Cooperative Agriculture program in the National Wildlife Refuge System, you will need to provide the following information:

5. Desired support: Outline any specific support you are seeking from the Service, such as the right to perform agricultural practices on NWRS land, access to Service water and equipment, or the involvement of refuge staff.

6. Bid or payment information: If you are interested in offering payment for the agriculture use on NWRS lands, such as haying or grazing, indicate your willingness to provide bids in compliance with the Refuge Revenue Sharing Act.

7. Evaluation criteria: Address the objective criteria that the Service will use to evaluate applications. It is crucial to demonstrate how your cooperative agriculture project meets these criteria.

8. Application due date: Note the deadline for submitting your application. This information will be provided in the annual Notice of Participation Opportunity.

9. Application instructions: Follow the instructions provided in the Notice of Participation Opportunity and on the NWRS website. Make sure to include all required documentation and adhere to any formatting or submission guidelines.

10. Compliance with regulations: Confirm your understanding that the Cooperative Agriculture Agreement (CAA) is not a financial assistance award and is not subject to the regulations specified in 2 CFR 200 or policy in parts 515 and 516 of the Fish and Wildlife Service Manual.

CanExport SMEs

Amount of Funding

Up to 50% funding to a maximum $50,000 grant per project;
Applicants may receive up to 50% of eligible costs for up to $10,000 to $50,000 in grant funding per project;
The applicant is responsible for the remaining 50% of costs;
The annual CanExport contribution maximum is $99,999 (in the event of multiple projects approved in the same government fiscal year);
A group of related companies cannot receive >$200,000 in funding in a single fiscal year. Projects budgets should be between $20,000-100,000; and
Applicants can apply for funding multiple times as long as their prior CanExport application has been completed all reporting is finished.

CanExport SMEs

Eligible Applicants

To be eligible for the CanExport program, Canadian businesses must:

Maintain 1 to <500 full-time employees;
Earn annual revenues ranging from $100,000 to $100,000,000;
Be federally incorporated federally or classified as a limited liability partnership (LLP);
Create eligible project expenses of $20,000 or more; and
Be financially stable and able to pay all project expenses not covered by the program.
