7. Explanation of the specific validations methods to be used, such as underlying mechanism/pathways analysis, functional imaging, behavior assessment, and cognitive readouts

8. Plan for independent replication of the models and validations

9. Statement of the goal of the project, whether it is supporting therapy development or better understanding of human disease mechanisms

10. Discussion on how the proposed models reflect the human condition as much as possible

11. Description of any novel models of complex pathology or comorbid conditions to be developed and validated

12. Explanation of multiple manipulations to better reflect the complex interaction of risk factors in patients, such as genetics, environment, lifestyle, age, etc.

13. Discussion on how the proposed models address a gap in the currently available models and how they are innovative

14. Budget plan for the project, including personnel, materials, and equipment expenses

15. List of key personnel involved in the project, including their qualifications and roles

16. Documentation of any previous research or experience in the field of AD/ADRD and model development/validation

17. Description of any collaborations or partnerships with other institutions or organizations for the project

CanExport SMEs

Amount of Funding

Up to 50% funding to a maximum $50,000 grant per project;
Applicants may receive up to 50% of eligible costs for up to $10,000 to $50,000 in grant funding per project;
The applicant is responsible for the remaining 50% of costs;
The annual CanExport contribution maximum is $99,999 (in the event of multiple projects approved in the same government fiscal year);
A group of related companies cannot receive >$200,000 in funding in a single fiscal year. Projects budgets should be between $20,000-100,000; and
Applicants can apply for funding multiple times as long as their prior CanExport application has been completed all reporting is finished.

CanExport SMEs

Eligible Applicants

To be eligible for the CanExport program, Canadian businesses must:

Maintain 1 to <500 full-time employees;
Earn annual revenues ranging from $100,000 to $100,000,000;
Be federally incorporated federally or classified as a limited liability partnership (LLP);
Create eligible project expenses of $20,000 or more; and
Be financially stable and able to pay all project expenses not covered by the program.
