Doctoral Research Award: Canada Graduate Scholarships Doctoral Award: 2023-2024

  1. Application Submission via ResearchNET: Submit applications through ResearchNET.
  2. Important Note on "Institution Paid" Field: The "Institution Paid" field determines the recipient of the application (Canadian institution with quota or CIHR). Incorrect submission may lead to rejection.
  3. Submission Options: To apply via a Canadian institution with a quota, select it from "Institution Paid" dropdown. To apply directly to CIHR, type CIHR manually in "Other" field next to "Institution Paid" dropdown.
  4. Further Guidance: Refer to "How to Submit an Application to CIHR's Canada Graduate Scholarships Doctoral Program (CGS D)" flow chart for details.
  5. Applicants with CIHR Quota Institutions: If registered in a Canadian institution with a CIHR quota during the application year, apply through the institution. Check institution's internal deadline, which might differ from agency's.
  6. Quota Clarification: Quota refers to max applications an institution can forward to each agency (CIHR, NSERC, SSHRC). Visit harmonized CGS D program page after confirming institution's quota to decide where to apply.
  7. No Institutional Affiliation or CIHR Quota: For applicants unaffiliated with institutions in application year or not in CIHR quota institutions:
