6. Research plan detailing the specific aims, background literature, experimental design/methodology, expected outcomes, and potential impact of the research using nonhuman primate (NHP) models

7. Budget justification, including a breakdown of how the requested funds will be utilized

8. Detailed budget estimate, including personnel salaries, equipment, supplies, and any other relevant expenses

9. Timeline or project schedule outlining the proposed activities and milestones

10. Statement addressing how this grant will benefit the applicant's career development and help them transition to an independent tenure-track position

11. Any relevant preliminary data or published work supporting the feasibility and significance of the proposed research

12. Description of the applicant's plans for establishing and running an NHP laboratory independently, including any relevant training or resources needed

13. Institutional support letter or commitment from the applicant's institution, ensuring access to necessary facilities, resources, and mentorship for the proposed research

14. Human subjects or animal involvement statement, if applicable

15. Any additional supporting documentation or references as required by the funding agency or specific grant guidelines.

CanExport SMEs

Amount of Funding

Up to 50% funding to a maximum $50,000 grant per project;
Applicants may receive up to 50% of eligible costs for up to $10,000 to $50,000 in grant funding per project;
The applicant is responsible for the remaining 50% of costs;
The annual CanExport contribution maximum is $99,999 (in the event of multiple projects approved in the same government fiscal year);
A group of related companies cannot receive >$200,000 in funding in a single fiscal year. Projects budgets should be between $20,000-100,000; and
Applicants can apply for funding multiple times as long as their prior CanExport application has been completed all reporting is finished.

CanExport SMEs

Eligible Applicants

To be eligible for the CanExport program, Canadian businesses must:

Maintain 1 to <500 full-time employees;
Earn annual revenues ranging from $100,000 to $100,000,000;
Be federally incorporated federally or classified as a limited liability partnership (LLP);
Create eligible project expenses of $20,000 or more; and
Be financially stable and able to pay all project expenses not covered by the program.
