1. Applicant Organization Information:

- Name of the organization

- Legal status of the organization (nonprofit, government entity, etc.)

- Organization's mission and goals

2. Project Information:

- Title of the project

- Summary of the project and its goals

- Description of how the project aligns with the goals of the National Infrastructure Partnerships initiative and the Fish and Wildlife Act

- Explanation of how the project supports habitat maintenance, restoration, improvement, and operation/maintenance of refuge facilities and services

- Discussion on how the project addresses FWS priorities and enhances the visitor experience, wildlife-dependent outdoor recreation, sustainable wildlife habitat, and career training/mentoring opportunities

3. Partnership Information:

- Description of the partnership between the applicant organization and other entities (local, regional, national nonprofit organizations, land management groups, state and tribal partners, etc.)

- Explanation of how the partnership will contribute to the success of the project

- Details of any previous partnerships or collaborations with FWS or other conservation organizations

4. Budget Information:

- Total estimated project budget

- Breakdown of budget categories (salaries, supplies, equipment, etc.)

- Explanation of how the project will be funded, including non-Federal matching funds

- A statement confirming that Federal funds will only be used for project-related expenses and not for operational/administrative costs of non-Federal entities

5. Support Documents:

- Any supporting documents that showcase past relevant experience, successful projects, partnerships, or community engagement efforts

- Letters of support or endorsement from relevant stakeholders or community members

6. Authorized Representative:

- Name and contact information of the authorized representative of the applicant organization who will be responsible for the application and project implementation

CanExport SMEs

Amount of Funding

Up to 50% funding to a maximum $50,000 grant per project;
Applicants may receive up to 50% of eligible costs for up to $10,000 to $50,000 in grant funding per project;
The applicant is responsible for the remaining 50% of costs;
The annual CanExport contribution maximum is $99,999 (in the event of multiple projects approved in the same government fiscal year);
A group of related companies cannot receive >$200,000 in funding in a single fiscal year. Projects budgets should be between $20,000-100,000; and
Applicants can apply for funding multiple times as long as their prior CanExport application has been completed all reporting is finished.

CanExport SMEs

Eligible Applicants

To be eligible for the CanExport program, Canadian businesses must:

Maintain 1 to <500 full-time employees;
Earn annual revenues ranging from $100,000 to $100,000,000;
Be federally incorporated federally or classified as a limited liability partnership (LLP);
Create eligible project expenses of $20,000 or more; and
Be financially stable and able to pay all project expenses not covered by the program.
