List of Required Information for Application:

1. Name and contact information of the applicant organization/individual

2. Description of the proposed project and its objectives

3. Explanation of how the project aligns with the goals and requirements of the Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA)

4. Detailed plan for deep decarbonization and significantly reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in energy-intensive industrial subsectors

5. Timeline and schedule for the project, including all four phases of activities

6. Description of the technology or approach to be used and its technical and commercial viability

7. Demonstration of how the project will have a positive impact on the community and promote environmental justice and economic opportunity

8. Information on any partnerships or collaborations with experts, universities, labor unions, community-based organizations, non-governmental organizations, product off-takers, and/or national laboratories

9. Overview of the financial viability of the project, including cost estimates and potential sources of funding

10. Identification of any potential market opportunities or partnerships for low-carbon products

11. Plan for sustained operation of the project after completion and how it will meet the priority criteria

12. Description of any previous experience or success in implementing similar projects or technologies

13. Any additional supporting documentation or evidence that strengthens the application

CanExport SMEs

Amount of Funding

Up to 50% funding to a maximum $50,000 grant per project;
Applicants may receive up to 50% of eligible costs for up to $10,000 to $50,000 in grant funding per project;
The applicant is responsible for the remaining 50% of costs;
The annual CanExport contribution maximum is $99,999 (in the event of multiple projects approved in the same government fiscal year);
A group of related companies cannot receive >$200,000 in funding in a single fiscal year. Projects budgets should be between $20,000-100,000; and
Applicants can apply for funding multiple times as long as their prior CanExport application has been completed all reporting is finished.

CanExport SMEs

Eligible Applicants

To be eligible for the CanExport program, Canadian businesses must:

Maintain 1 to <500 full-time employees;
Earn annual revenues ranging from $100,000 to $100,000,000;
Be federally incorporated federally or classified as a limited liability partnership (LLP);
Create eligible project expenses of $20,000 or more; and
Be financially stable and able to pay all project expenses not covered by the program.
