Investigating Distinct and Overlapping Mechanisms in TDP-43 Proteinopathies, including in LATE, FTD and other ADRDs (R01 - Clinical Trial Not Allowed)

- Scientific and/or clinical background knowledge on TDP-43 proteinopathies, LATE, FTD, ALS, and AD-NC

- Proposed research plan and objectives focusing on investigating the mechanisms and causal relationships between TDP-43 pathology and phenotypic outcomes

- Approach for studying mechanistic interactions between TDP-43 and other co-pathologies, such as TMEM106B

- Comparison strategies (i.e., mechanistic, molecular, structural, cellular, genetic, -omic, anatomical, neuropathological, etc.) between TDP-43 proteinopathies, LATE (with or without AD-NC), FTD, and/or ALS

- Research methods and techniques to be employed, including any technological advancements or innovations

- Potential collaborations or partnerships with other research institutions or experts in the field

- Timelines and budget for the proposed research project

- Anticipated impact and significance of the research findings on understanding TDP-43 proteinopathies and related neurodegenerative disorders

- Plans for disseminating research results through publications, conference presentations, or other means

- Qualifications and expertise of the applicants or research team members in relevant areas of study

- Any additional resources or facilities required to successfully carry out the research project.
