4. Collaboration Plan: Description of how the research projects will collaborate and share resources to achieve synergistic results.

5. Research Cores: Description of the shared research cores that will be established, including their purpose, resources, and how they will support the research projects.

6. Expertise: Information on the expertise of the project leaders and core leaders, including their past research accomplishments and funding support.

7. Program Objectives: Statement on how the proposed research aligns with the scientific mission of the NIDDK and how it will contribute to the overall program objectives.

8. Budget: Detailed budget plan for the grant, including personnel, supplies, equipment, and other expenses.

9. Timeline: Proposed timeline for the research activities, including milestones and deliverables.

10. Collaborative Grants Comparison: Familiarity with and understanding of the collaborative grant mechanisms supported by NIDDK, as mentioned in the announcement, and how the proposed P01 program project differs or aligns with them.

11. Compliance: Confirmation of compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and ethical guidelines for conducting research.

CanExport SMEs

Amount of Funding

Up to 50% funding to a maximum $50,000 grant per project;
Applicants may receive up to 50% of eligible costs for up to $10,000 to $50,000 in grant funding per project;
The applicant is responsible for the remaining 50% of costs;
The annual CanExport contribution maximum is $99,999 (in the event of multiple projects approved in the same government fiscal year);
A group of related companies cannot receive >$200,000 in funding in a single fiscal year. Projects budgets should be between $20,000-100,000; and
Applicants can apply for funding multiple times as long as their prior CanExport application has been completed all reporting is finished.

CanExport SMEs

Eligible Applicants

To be eligible for the CanExport program, Canadian businesses must:

Maintain 1 to <500 full-time employees;
Earn annual revenues ranging from $100,000 to $100,000,000;
Be federally incorporated federally or classified as a limited liability partnership (LLP);
Create eligible project expenses of $20,000 or more; and
Be financially stable and able to pay all project expenses not covered by the program.
