3. Statement of intent to transition from intramural postdoctoral research position to extramural, academic tenure-track or equivalent faculty position

4. List of eligible U.S. institutions where the applicant intends to pursue the faculty position

5. Proposed research plan for the extramural phase, including objectives, methods, and anticipated outcomes

6. Description of mentorship arrangements during both the intramural and extramural phases

7. Research support needs during the extramural phase, including budget and requested funding amount

8. Academic qualifications and achievements of the applicant, including publications and presentations

9. References or letters of recommendation supporting the applicant's qualifications and potential for successful transition to an independent research program

10. Confirmation that the proposed research does not involve leading an independent clinical trial, clinical trial feasibility study, or ancillary study to a clinical trial (if applicable)

11. If proposing research experience in a clinical trial led by a mentor or co-mentor, description of the proposed role and responsibilities in the clinical trial

12. Compliance with any additional requirements or guidelines specified in the Funding Opportunity Announcement

CanExport SMEs

Amount of Funding

Up to 50% funding to a maximum $50,000 grant per project;
Applicants may receive up to 50% of eligible costs for up to $10,000 to $50,000 in grant funding per project;
The applicant is responsible for the remaining 50% of costs;
The annual CanExport contribution maximum is $99,999 (in the event of multiple projects approved in the same government fiscal year);
A group of related companies cannot receive >$200,000 in funding in a single fiscal year. Projects budgets should be between $20,000-100,000; and
Applicants can apply for funding multiple times as long as their prior CanExport application has been completed all reporting is finished.

CanExport SMEs

Eligible Applicants

To be eligible for the CanExport program, Canadian businesses must:

Maintain 1 to <500 full-time employees;
Earn annual revenues ranging from $100,000 to $100,000,000;
Be federally incorporated federally or classified as a limited liability partnership (LLP);
Create eligible project expenses of $20,000 or more; and
Be financially stable and able to pay all project expenses not covered by the program.
