2. Applicant's clinical doctoral degree and field of study

3. Statement of career goals and how the K08 award will contribute to achieving those goals

4. Research proposal describing the project to be undertaken during the award period

5. Description of the mentor's expertise and track record in mentoring clinical scientists

6. Letter of support from the mentor, outlining their commitment to the applicant's career development and research project

7. Curriculum vitae (CV) or resume highlighting the applicant's education, training, and research experience

8. Biosketch of the mentor, demonstrating their qualifications to serve as a mentor

9. Academic transcripts or academic record demonstrating the applicant's academic achievements

10. List of previous research grants or funding received by the applicant, if applicable

11. Budget justification detailing how the grant funds will be used for research expenses, training, and salary support

12. Timeline or work plan outlining the proposed activities and milestones for the research project

13. Human subjects or animal research documentation, if applicable

14. Institutional commitment letter, demonstrating the institution's support for the applicant's career development and research project.

Up to 50% funding to a maximum $50,000 grant per project;
Applicants may receive up to 50% of eligible costs for up to $10,000 to $50,000 in grant funding per project;
The applicant is responsible for the remaining 50% of costs;
The annual CanExport contribution maximum is $99,999 (in the event of multiple projects approved in the same government fiscal year);
A group of related companies cannot receive >$200,000 in funding in a single fiscal year. Projects budgets should be between $20,000-100,000; and
Applicants can apply for funding multiple times as long as their prior CanExport application has been completed all reporting is finished.

To be eligible for the CanExport program, Canadian businesses must:

Maintain 1 to <500 full-time employees;
Earn annual revenues ranging from $100,000 to $100,000,000;
Be federally incorporated federally or classified as a limited liability partnership (LLP);
Create eligible project expenses of $20,000 or more; and
Be financially stable and able to pay all project expenses not covered by the program.
