List of required information for application to the NIDCR Dual Degree Dentist Scientist Pathway to Independence Award (K99/R00):

1. Applicant's name and contact information

2. Dual degree dentist scientist qualification (proof of DDS or DMD degree and research-focused doctoral degree)

3. Description of current postdoctoral research position and mentor

4. Proposed timeline for transitioning to an independent, tenure-track or equivalent faculty position

5. Description of proposed research project for the independent phase

6. Budget proposal for the two years of mentored training and three to five years of independent research

7. Description of how the award will facilitate the development of the applicant as an independent dentist scientist

8. Statement of career goals and commitment to pursuing research in dental and oral health fields

9. Prior research experience and publications/research output

10. Letters of support from current mentor and future research institution or department

11. CV or resume highlighting relevant education, training, and research experience

12. Transcripts or proof of completion of dual degree programs

13. Any additional supporting documentation or letters of recommendation as required by the application guidelines.

Up to 50% funding to a maximum $50,000 grant per project;
Applicants may receive up to 50% of eligible costs for up to $10,000 to $50,000 in grant funding per project;
The applicant is responsible for the remaining 50% of costs;
The annual CanExport contribution maximum is $99,999 (in the event of multiple projects approved in the same government fiscal year);
A group of related companies cannot receive >$200,000 in funding in a single fiscal year. Projects budgets should be between $20,000-100,000; and
Applicants can apply for funding multiple times as long as their prior CanExport application has been completed all reporting is finished.

To be eligible for the CanExport program, Canadian businesses must:

Maintain 1 to <500 full-time employees;
Earn annual revenues ranging from $100,000 to $100,000,000;
Be federally incorporated federally or classified as a limited liability partnership (LLP);
Create eligible project expenses of $20,000 or more; and
Be financially stable and able to pay all project expenses not covered by the program.
