Required Information for Application:

1. Name of investigator and institution impacted by Hurricanes Fiona and Ian

2. Active NIH grant number

3. Justification for a 24-month extension of the current budget period

4. Funding level requested for the extension (same as current year or different)

5. Justification for a one-time administrative supplement and the amount requested (up to $150,000 in direct costs)

6. Explanation of lost and/or damaged research resources that need to be replaced with the administrative supplement

7. Documentation supporting the need to replace a single item of equipment (if requesting up to $250,000)

8. Description of minor alteration and renovation to research facilities and the requested funding amount (up to $500,000)

9. Explanation of how the supplement request will benefit the applicant's research project affected by the hurricanes

10. County or parish where the major disaster has been declared under the Stafford Act

11. Confirmation of eligibility for applicants located in the designated counties or parishes

12. Confirmation of eligibility for grants at NIH-supported institutions impacted by Hurricanes Fiona and Ian

13. Information on grant relocation (if applicable) and potential impact on the funded extension

14. Details on any other ongoing or planned administrative supplement requests for the same grant or other NIH grant programs

15. Assurance that the requested funds will not duplicate or overlap with reimbursement provided by FEMA, insurance contracts, or self-insurance

16. Any additional supporting documents or information required by the appropriate NIH Institutes and Centers.

Up to 50% funding to a maximum $50,000 grant per project;
Applicants may receive up to 50% of eligible costs for up to $10,000 to $50,000 in grant funding per project;
The applicant is responsible for the remaining 50% of costs;
The annual CanExport contribution maximum is $99,999 (in the event of multiple projects approved in the same government fiscal year);
A group of related companies cannot receive >$200,000 in funding in a single fiscal year. Projects budgets should be between $20,000-100,000; and
Applicants can apply for funding multiple times as long as their prior CanExport application has been completed all reporting is finished.

To be eligible for the CanExport program, Canadian businesses must:

Maintain 1 to <500 full-time employees;
Earn annual revenues ranging from $100,000 to $100,000,000;
Be federally incorporated federally or classified as a limited liability partnership (LLP);
Create eligible project expenses of $20,000 or more; and
Be financially stable and able to pay all project expenses not covered by the program.
