Upgraded | Canadian Government Funding

Identifying Participants: List all project participants, adhering to Eligibility requirements. The NPA remains unchanged between LOI and full application phases; others can be added/removed. All participants, including partners, should be listed in the Participant Table under "Attach Other Application Materials."
Participant CVs and Types: All participants must submit CVs (excluding collaborators). Canadian academic applicants need a CIHR Biosketch CV. Knowledge users, non-academics, patients/caregivers/family members, Indigenous organizations, and international applicants can use a CIHR Biosketch CV or Applicant Profile CV (max three pages).
Indigenous Organization CV: NPA categories needing Indigenous-led non-governmental organizations must detail eligibility in Applicant Profile CV.
Additional CV Submission: Biosketch CVs via Canadian Common CV (CCV) interface. Applicant Profile CVs via uploaded document under "Attachment" tab.
Proposal Information Entry: Research Proposal outlines elements from Full Application Evaluation Criteria, aligning with initiative objectives. Should stand alone, comprehensively describing the project. French proposals can have additional pages based on language space difference (10 pages English, 12 pages French).
Appendix Attachments for Proposal: Charts, references, tables, figures, and photos can be uploaded under "Attachments – Research Proposal Appendix."
Summary of Research Proposal: Include a description of how the proposal aligns with funding opportunity objectives, keeping within one (1) page.
Budget Information Entry: Provide detailed budget justification in relation to planned activities, justifying all items. Include cash/cash equivalent contributions if relevant.

CanExport SMEs

Amount of Funding

Up to 50% funding to a maximum $50,000 grant per project;
Applicants may receive up to 50% of eligible costs for up to $10,000 to $50,000 in grant funding per project;
The applicant is responsible for the remaining 50% of costs;
The annual CanExport contribution maximum is $99,999 (in the event of multiple projects approved in the same government fiscal year);
A group of related companies cannot receive >$200,000 in funding in a single fiscal year. Projects budgets should be between $20,000-100,000; and
Applicants can apply for funding multiple times as long as their prior CanExport application has been completed all reporting is finished.

CanExport SMEs

Eligible Applicants

To be eligible for the CanExport program, Canadian businesses must:

Maintain 1 to <500 full-time employees;
Earn annual revenues ranging from $100,000 to $100,000,000;
Be federally incorporated federally or classified as a limited liability partnership (LLP);
Create eligible project expenses of $20,000 or more; and
Be financially stable and able to pay all project expenses not covered by the program.
