Operating Grant: HCRI - Data Analysis Using Existing Databases and Cohorts

  1. Identifying Participants - List all participants in the "Identify Participants" task, ensuring eligibility requirements are met. Participants must provide CVs (excluding collaborators). Canadian academic applicants must submit a CIHR Biosketch CV, while knowledge users, non-academics, Indigenous organizations, and international applicants can choose either a CIHR Biosketch CV or an Applicant Profile CV (up to three pages). For Indigenous NGOs in eligibility, Applicant Profile CV must describe the organization's Indigenous status and mandate. Biosketch CVs go through the Canadian Common CV (CCV) interface, and Applicant Profile CVs are uploaded as attachments.
  2. Proposal Information Entry - The Research Proposal must cover all criteria in the evaluation section, indicating relevant research areas. Proposals in French can submit extra pages to accommodate language differences, capped at 5 pages for English and 6 pages for French submissions. Additional content can be uploaded under "Attachments – Research Proposal Appendix." Specify "1" Year and "0" Months for the Period of Support Requested.
  3. Summary of Research Proposal - Summarize the research proposal within one page.
  4. Budget Information - Complete the budget information and provide clear justifications for each budget item.
  5. Attachment of Other Materials - Attach letters of support or documents from data custodians indicating data access permission or the process of obtaining it. Attach other documents as follows: Certificate of Completion of SGBA training module; Dataset table; Eligibility Attestation Form; For Indigenous engagement and experience:"Indigenous Engagement Plan" (max 2 pages); "Indigenous Experience – Name/Organization" (max 1 page); Applicant Partner COI Document (if applicable); Participant Table; Letters of Collaboration (if applicable); Publications list (max 5).
  6. Priority Announcements/Funding Pools - Choose a funding pool and describe in half a page how your research addresses it.
  7. Access Management (Optional) - The Nominated Principal Applicant (NPA) can delegate access to five individuals for support. Delegate access doesn't continue between stages.
  8. Print, Scan, and Upload Signature Pages - Signatures are needed for all applicants (excluding Collaborators) and those with signing authority. Scanned signatures and the Routing Slip must be uploaded in the Print/Upload Signature Pages task before submission.
