POR Awards – Transition to Leadership Stream – Phase 2

  1. Participant Identification: The Nominated Principal Applicant (NPA) must fulfill eligibility criteria and provide a CIHR Academic CV. The NPA needs to list up to five significant contributions linked to their application, encompassing publications, awards, knowledge mobilization, etc.
  2. Proposal Info: Specify the Institution Paid from CIHR Eligible Institutions list. Indicate support period (3 or 4 years based on Phase 1 duration) and proposal language. Attach Research Proposal with specified page limits based on language (13 pages in English, 16 pages in French). Include essential info, tables, charts, and align with Evaluation Criteria.
  3. Research Proposal Summary: Summarize research proposal within one page, addressing Relevance Review Process criteria.
  4. Attach Application Materials: Upload letters of support, including mentor letter and Indigenous community/organization letter if applicable. Include Full-time Appointment or Commitment Letter, Budget Confirmation, Partner Contributions, and optional COVID-19 impact statement.
  5. Apply to Funding Pools/Announcements: Choose Phase 2 application deadline corresponding to Phase 2 transition plan. Contact CIHR for deadline-related inquiries. Select only one deadline to avoid confusion.
  6. Print/Upload Signature Pages: NPA signature not needed. Obtain signatures from Institution Paid and Research Institution representatives. Scan and upload signed signature pages and Routing Slip in ResearchNet before submission.
